Retiree Perks and Privileges

Staff retiree discounted permit eligibility is based upon years of university system service credit. Emeriti professors are eligible for emeriti parking permits. Daily Discounted ePermits (formerly known as ridecards) – this option is for those who visit UCLA on an infrequent basis and entitles holders to receive a discounted daily rate. Staff retirees’ Bruin OnLine email accounts will continue upon retirement - they are NOT your departmental email address and do not include other services, such as VPN and Zoom. Emeriti can keep their departmental email. Emeriti from the School of Medicine currently have a one-month blackout on their departmental email after their separation. Emeriti and recalled employees should work with their department to ensure access to BOL services. CLICK HERE for more information on Bruin OnLine.

Staff retirees and emeriti professors are entitled to retiree/emeriti BruinCards upon retirement, and the first card is free. Retiree BruinCards expire every two years. Library privileges include the ability to check out books, use computers, and print/copy (for a fee). Your retiree/emeriti BruinCard is your library card. Discount tickets for: Theme parks, Movie theaters, CAP UCLA (formerly UCLA Live)*, Public transportation. * Not all CAP UCLA events are eligible for retiree/emeriti discounts. CLICK HERE for more info.

UCLA Emeriti/Retirees are eligible to purchase Rec Membership for access to JWC, KREC, Drake Stadium, Pools, SCRC, and Tennis Courts. The Emeriti Strength & Balance offered is open to all UCLA retirees. CLICK HERE for more info.

If you’re a UCLA retiree, you can enroll in an Extension course at a 25% reduced fee discount. Join your fellow retired staff and faculty and take advantage of this great opportunity. CLICK HERE for the form. After you fill out the form, send that to us at emeriti@errc.ucla.edu. We will then have the form signed and email that back to you. You will then submit that form to UNEX to get the discount.
