Open Enrollment for retirees ended on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at 5 p.m.

Open Enrollment is the annual period when University of California retirees can enroll in benefits for the next calendar year. Retirees are able to enroll for their 2024 benefits from Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 8am. To provide members of the UC Medicare Choice plan more time to switch plans during Open Enrollment if they so choose, the Open Enrollment deadline is being extended. Retirees will have until Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at 5 p.m. (PST) to allow you more time to understand your options. Additional information, such as plan changes, as well as tools and resources to assist with this year’s benefits choices, will be shared as soon as it becomes available. If you don’t act during Open Enrollment, you’ll continue your current health coverage in 2024, but your costs will change. Learn all about your benefits on UCnet and ask ALEX to walk you through your choices and costs.

Please read a message from Cheryl Lloyd, vice president of Systemwide Human Resources, about significant increases in medical plan premiums for 2024. In her letter to the UC community, Vice President Lloyd acknowledges the impact of these increases on faculty, staff and retirees, and offers an overview of the steps UC leadership has taken to maintain quality, choice, affordability and equity.

UC retiree plans are maintained by RASC. RASC is responsible for resolving your eligibility and enrollment issues when you have retiree coverage.
